■ WHY 0 STCK TOKYO aims for sustainability <br>The modern apparel industry is facing "mass waste due to excess inventory" and the associated "environmental problems." In fact, it is said that 1 billion pieces of clothing, or 1000 1%, are produced every year, and of these, 100 million pieces are actually thrown away without ever being touched by a human, with approximately 1 million tons being disposed of annually in Japan alone. 80% of the clothes to be disposed of are incinerated without being recycled, resulting in the emission of huge greenhouse gases and wastewater, which has become a social problem.
