About 20 minutes from JR Okayama Station towards the Seto Inland Sea, we visited " Iyutori 18 ", a denim processing company that has been in business since 2004 in the seaside fishing town of Kojima.

Domestic jeans made in Kojima, Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, are characterized by their outstanding quality and handcrafted finish. These processes, which allow you to feel the essence of Japanese quality, especially the processing techniques, support luxury fashion around the world and are highly popular with fashion lovers all over the world. 

The sample room of Iya to Ri 18 , loved all over the world, is decorated with the signatures of famous people from Japan and abroad, so many of whose names we regret that we cannot tell you, and is surrounded by a cramped space filled with not only denim processed in-house, but also used clothing collected by the staff. The brand's designers visit this place and look at samples to decide the direction of the denim they will create in the future, such as color, scratches, blasted texture, stitch color, dirt and damage.

 All processes at Iya to Ri 18 are done by hand, and I was amazed at the youthfulness and energy of the staff who work there. The average age of the technicians is 30, and many of them are from outside the prefecture.
