■ WHY 0 STOCK TOKYO / Sustainable Goals of Zero Stock
The modern apparel industry faces the challenges of "mass disposal due to excess inventory" and the accompanying "environmental problems." It is said that 100 billion pieces of clothing are produced annually, and in fact, 1% of that, or 1 billion pieces, are discarded without ever being touched by human hands. In Japan alone, approximately 1 million tons are disposed of annually. 80% of disposed clothing is incinerated without being recycled, leading to enormous greenhouse gas emissions and wastewater, which have become social issues. To solve this problem, it is necessary to deliver only the required amount to those who need it. Aiming for this project and service to become a new paradigm, we are launching 0 STOCK TOKYO, a made-to-order brand.
