VOL.2_241 CO. | Kojima, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture

0 STOCK TOKYO 's new project,
" 2100 Vintage Denim", denim that will be passed down for 100 years, is made in a sewing factory (241 CO.) facing the Seto Inland Sea with a view.
The Kojima area of Okayama Prefecture is known as the "holy land of denim" where Japanese jeans were first made, and its craftsmanship and meticulous finishing are highly regarded around the world. 241 CO. has also been sewing for some of the world's most famous brands for 30 years.

Kojima is a very rare region in the denim industry, with all the processes from upstream to downstream. The upstream process ( spinning, dyeing, weaving ) , the midstream process ( cutting, sewing ) , and the upstream process ( processing, washing, rubbing ) are all creations that are highly praised, and there are very few industries in the prefecture that have all of these processes, both in Japan and overseas.
The close collaboration between the factory and processing plant enables the stable production of high-quality products, and the craftsmen have inherited their traditional techniques as a town and are using them in the production of jeans.

One of the unique features of Factory 241 is that in order to pursue world-class stable quality, we have our own laboratory function and manage the entire process from pattern making to inspection, cutting, and sewing.
We are grateful that the world-famous technology and traditions of Japan have continued to exist unchanged, and together with the people of Kojima we will create a garment that is so carefully crafted down to the smallest detail that it feels luxurious to wear.

The same goes for the attention to detail that goes into each individual thread. We selected hundreds of different threads, adjusting the count and color depending on the sewing parts, and chose cotton thread that would blend in with the indigo fading over the course of decades.

The fabric is made with an overwhelmingly durable thickness of over 16 ounces, with the aim of being a fabric that can be used for 100 years and generations to come. At the same time, it is also flexible, as it is woven at a low tension at a pace of 5 meters per hour using an old-fashioned shuttle machine. For the warp threads, rather than the commonly used dark blue that is close to black, a slightly bluish indigo-dyed thread is used, which is adjusted so that the vertical fading will appear the more it is worn.

* Eiichi Fujii, CEO and President, is full of vitality.

After going through several processes and the hands of many craftsmen, 0 STOCK TOKYO denim is finally unveiled.
